New Year Coloring Pages

New Year coloring pages for adults and teens, with a cozy, quiet take on the countdown: party hats, sparklers, cocoa at midnight and a fresh planner for January. Two Mice Toasting Cocoa at Midnight and Fox's First Snow Walk in January are short, roomy pages. New Year Countdown Clock with Balloons and Hedgehog with a Sparkler in the Snow are bold and festive, while Owl Planning the New Year and Bunny Knitting on a January Evening fill a longer evening. Many have no party at all, so they work all through January. Every page is a free PDF in US Letter and A4, or color it online.

Tips for new year pages

  • For a midnight look, color the sky or the window navy or deep indigo and keep everything else pale, so cream, gold and pastel party hats glow against it.
  • Markers have no metallic gold. On sparklers, clock rims and party hat trim, use a warm yellow on the lit side and an ochre or light brown on the shadow side, then add white gel pen dots once the ink is dry.
  • Fireworks drawn as rings of separate petals look best in two colors: alternate them around the ring, or go light at the tips and darker toward the center.
  • Some pages leave something blank on purpose: the clock face in Two Mice Toasting Cocoa at Midnight, the calendar in Owl Planning the New Year and the journal in January Journal Desk by the Window. Write the year, a date or a goal with a fine pen before you color.
  • January scenes suit a cool palette (pale blue, silvery gray, cream) with one warm accent, such as an amber lamp or a red scarf, repeated in 2 or 3 places.

Questions

Are these New Year coloring pages free?
Yes. Every page is a free PDF in US Letter and A4, with no sign-up, free for personal and classroom use.
Which New Year pages are the easiest?
Two Mice Toasting Cocoa at Midnight has 44 spaces and none of them tiny. Hedgehog with a Sparkler in the Snow and Fox's First Snow Walk in January are also quick. Owl Planning the New Year has the most small details.
Are there pages for January, not just New Year's Eve?
Yes: Fox's First Snow Walk in January, Cat Reading a New Book in January, Bunny Knitting on a January Evening and January Journal Desk by the Window have no party in them at all.
Can the whole family color them on New Year's Eve?
Yes. They are drawn for adults and teens, but the bold lines are easy for children too. Copy paper is fine for colored pencils; for alcohol markers, 65 lb cardstock (176 gsm) holds up better. Print at Actual size.
